The Path That Changed My Perspective on Health
I'm Karen Bradford, PT, MSPT
Terrain Wellness Educator & Consultant
For more than three decades, I worked as a physical therapist helping people recover, rebuild, and regain confidence in their bodies. Throughout my career, I was fascinated by the body's ability to adapt, heal, and respond to the many factors that influence health.
In 2022, my own health journey took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Just months after completing treatment, I experienced a recurrence in 2023. Like many women facing cancer, I found myself searching for answers beyond standard treatment alone. While I was very grateful for the medical care I received, I wanted to better understand the factors that influence health, resilience, recovery, and long-term well-being.
That search led me to the Metabolic Approach to Cancer and the concept of the body's terrain-the internal environment created by the the interconnected relationship between nutrition, metabolism, movement, stress, sleep, environment and mindset. I began to see health through a broader lens. Rather than focusing solely on disease, I became interested in understanding the conditions that help the body function at its best.
Through this experience, I discovered something invaluable: knowledge can be very empowering. Understanding the terrain factors that influence health helped me move from feeling overwhelmed and uncertain to feeling informed, engaged, and more confident in the decisions I was making.
Today, as a Certified Metabolic Terrain Advocate, Certified Life Coach, cancer survivor, and physical therapist with more than 35 years of clinical experience, I am passionate about helping women better understand their health through a terrain lens.
Drawing on clinical experience, personal experience navigating cancer, and training in the metabolic terrain approach, I help women explore the factors that influence long-term health and resilience so they can make informed decisions, ask better questions, and feel more confident moving forward.
My goal is not to replace your medical team or tell you what to do. My role is to provide education, support, and perspective so you can feel empowered to take an active role in your own health journey.
